About the Event: Stair Climb: There were 1,980 steps in the Towers that fell on 9/11. That's 17 times up & down 120 stairs in the Lake Co. Fairgrounds Grandstand. You will be given 17 pennies, dropping off 1 after each lap completed. When your pennies are gone, you are finished! Are you up for the challenge? 1 Mile Non-timed Walk is for those who don't wish to do stairs but still want to participate to honor our 9/11 Heroes. What should I wear?
Dress for ~10°F warmer than the standing temperature once you start running. Throwaway long-sleeve at the start, gloves and a hat for sub-50°F mornings, singlet plus visor when it climbs above 60°F. The race-day forecast above is the source of truth closer to the date.
