About the Race
The Daniel Barden Mudfest was created in memory of Daniel Barden, one of the first-grade students whose life was taken during the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in December 2012. The event was founded by family members whose niece was inside the school that day. While she escaped unharmed, she lost her dear friend Daniel.
