About the Race
Join us for the 5th annual Island 25 or Island 15 Bike Race on Howland Island- part of the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area on Saturday, June 6, 2026. A great warm up event for the Black Fly Challenge the following week. Riders of both the Island 25 and the Island 15 will start at the Savannah Fire Dept. What should I wear?
Dress for ~10°F warmer than the standing temperature once you start running. Throwaway long-sleeve at the start, gloves and a hat for sub-50°F mornings, singlet plus visor when it climbs above 60°F. The race-day forecast above is the source of truth closer to the date.
