About the Race
The Long Bridge Swim is the Northwest's Premier open water swimming event! A beautiful 1.76 mile swim from the south end of Sandpoint's historic Long Bridge to the North end. Founded by local swimming enthusiast Eric Ridgway in 1995, the Long Bridge Swim has grown from the first group of 78 friends swimming across Lake Pend O'Reille to 705 swimmers in 2024. What should I wear?
Dress for ~10°F warmer than the standing temperature once you start running. Throwaway long-sleeve at the start, gloves and a hat for sub-50°F mornings, singlet plus visor when it climbs above 60°F. The race-day forecast above is the source of truth closer to the date.
