About the Race
Aptly named for the rugged men who explored this area starting in the 1860s, the Prosepctor is a brand new race for 2023! The views are as good as the gold they were looking for. If you can pull your eyes away from the surrounding mountain views, you’ll run by big and small reminders of the mining activity including homesteads, mine equipment, and endless spur roads. The Prospector 50k/30k races operate under a Special Use Permit from the Gardiner Ranger Distrcit.

What should I wear?
Dress for ~10°F warmer than the standing temperature once you start running. Throwaway long-sleeve at the start, gloves and a hat for sub-50°F mornings, singlet plus visor when it climbs above 60°F. The race-day forecast above is the source of truth closer to the date.
