The Washington Police Department explorer post will be hosting their inaugural 5k run. The money raised will be used to help send the explorers to the annual St. Louis Area Law Enforcement Explorer Academy, which is a week long event held in the St. Louis area. The academy costs the post roughly $450 per year. A majority of this is paid for by the post to allow for all explorers to attend that want to attend, regardless of financial ability.
